The weighting prevents one attractive feature from hiding a weak product. A perfect root match cannot compensate for an abrupt transition, damaged ends or inadequate density. Likewise, exceptionally soft hair should not score as premium if the undertone is wrong and the root appears disconnected from the wearer.
