In 2023, Other Leather and Allied Product Manufacturing employed 2,490 workers in the selected occupation, while Footwear Manufacturing employed 2,080. Personal and Household Goods Repair and Maintenance accounted for 590 workers, and Leather and Hide Tanning and Finishing employed 530.
The wage profile differs by industry. Shoe Retailers carried a 2023 mean hourly wage of $22.07 and mean annual wage of $45,910, while Other Leather and Allied Product Manufacturing averaged $16.55 per hour and $34,430 annually. The Coastal Plains Region of Texas recorded 170 workers in 2023, equal to 1.16 workers per 1,000 jobs and a location quotient of 24.35.
