DESCRIBE YOUR HAIR IN 3 WORDS.

Dry, thin, and my signature!

Growing up, I wasn't a fan of my hair—it always felt like it had a mind of its own. But after having my little ones, it became a part of me that I couldn't help but love. I realized I needed to take better care of it, and that's when the hair care journey began!

HOW HAS YOUR HAIR CHANGED AFTER PREGNANCY?

Before kids, I could effortlessly flip my hair to one side and it would look fab. Now, it's drier and requires more TLC. Post-pregnancy, I experienced significant hair loss, especially around the front, which made styling a bit trickier.

Post-pregnancy changes can be tough, especially dealing with hair loss. With my second child, it seemed like I was shedding more than ever! It's just one of those reminders that our bodies keep changing, even after childbirth. But hey, we adapt and embrace the journey, right?

WHAT WAS YOUR GO-TO HAIRSTYLE BEFORE CHILDBIRTH?

Before becoming a mom, I had the luxury of spending more time on my hair, experimenting with different styles and putting in the effort. Nowadays, with limited time, I opt for quick and easy styles like a simple blow-dry, a low bun, or even braids to keep things natural and hassle-free.

HOW HAS MOTHERHOOD CHANGED YOUR PRIORITIES?

Motherhood has shifted my focus from personal goals and career to a broader responsibility of leaving a better world for my children. It's made me more conscious of how my actions impact society, and I believe it has made me a better contributor both at work and in the world at large.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF OUR FOURTH TRIMESTER FILL INS?

I love the convenience of our fourth-trimester fill ins! They're so easy to apply, taking just a couple of minutes with two clips on each side. They blend seamlessly with my hair, requiring minimal effort to achieve a great look. It's incredible how effortless they make styling!

WHAT ARE SOME WAYS YOU PRIORITIZE SELF-CARE?

For me, self-care can be as simple as savoring a cup of coffee once the kids are out of the house. It's a small moment of relaxation amidst the chaos. Additionally, I prioritize working out whenever I can. It's not only beneficial for my physical health but also provides mental rejuvenation when I have that time to myself.

WHAT DOES THE MODERN MOM LOOK LIKE?

To me, the modern mom embodies whatever she wants to be. We've moved past judgment and embraced the diversity of motherhood. It's about celebrating every aspect of being a mom, and that includes how we choose to present ourselves. Every mom has the power to define her own style, and that's exactly where we should be heading.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR HAIR IN THREE WORDS?

My hair? Always changing, messy, and breezy. With postpartum hair loss, I've switched to washing it only once or twice a week to minimize shedding. And with little Sawyer pulling on it, I've mastered the art of keeping it in a bun or secured with a claw clip to avoid his tugs.

As a first-time mom, navigating motherhood during a global pandemic has been quite the ride. During pregnancy, my hair was thick, but now I'm dealing with postpartum hair loss and thinning, especially around my scalp. It can be a bit disheartening at times, especially when I try to style it into a ponytail.

WHAT WAS YOUR GO-TO HAIRSTYLE BEFORE CHILDBIRTH?

Before becoming a mom, I loved wearing my hair down, all curled up. But with a little hair-puller like Sawyer, those days had to take a backseat. Postpartum hair loss hit me hard, especially around my forehead, and dealing with scalp shedding made wearing a ponytail a self-conscious affair. It definitely took a toll on my self-esteem, going from lush locks to meticulously hiding those thin spots. These days, it's all about the messy bun or a quick claw clip look. I rarely wear it down now because, well, thin hair doesn't feel as glamorous.

HOW HAS MOTHERHOOD CHANGED YOUR SELF-PERCEPTION?

Motherhood has reshaped how I see myself, especially in terms of self-love. Growing a baby for nine months, experiencing body changes, and then caring for both baby and self afterward—it's a whole new ball game. Priorities shift, and my hair and makeup routine? Let's just say, it's evolved quite a bit.

HOW DO YOU MAKE TIME FOR SELF-CARE?

Prioritizing myself amidst baby duties is crucial. Communication with my partner and getting occasional help from others allow me to carve out some me-time. Whether it's indulging in a bubble bath, diving into a good book, or scrapbooking, finding those moments amid baby care is key.

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT BECOMING A MOM?

Motherhood is a rollercoaster ride, no doubt, but every twist and turn is worth it. Watching Sawyer grow and ensuring a beautiful world for him—it's what keeps me going. He's the center of my universe.

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ABOUT YOURSELF?

Motherhood has taught me the power of unconditional love. It's a whole new level of opening your heart, realizing that your child becomes your entire world. It's a journey of self-discovery and endless growth.

HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE THE MODERN MOM?

The modern mom is a force to be reckoned with. She defines her own path, whether it's as a full-time parent, a breadwinner, or a perfect blend of both. We have the freedom to pursue our passions while nurturing our little ones, and that's empowering.

Bryar in Bronde Balayage Hair Fill Ins with Gunner (8 weeks old)

HOW DOES YOUR HAIR FEEL POST-PREGNANCY?

Post-pregnancy, my hair has definitely thinned out, especially around my temples and the back of my head. It's been quite a surprise, considering how much hair I had before giving birth.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF OUR FOURTH TRIMESTER HAIR WEFTS?

I'm pleasantly surprised by our fourth-trimester hair wefts! They feel incredibly natural, and I was expecting them to feel heavy or noticeable, but they blend in seamlessly with my natural hair. Having full, volumized hair feels like a special treat!

HAS MOTHERHOOD CHANGED THE WAY YOU VIEW YOURSELF?

Motherhood hasn't drastically changed my self-perception, but it has shown me the immense strength that women possess. Going through a long hospital stay with Gunner, who arrived six weeks early, highlighted the incredible resilience of mothers. It's a strength you tap into because there's simply no other option. My priorities shifted dramatically when he was born, and I experienced an overwhelming emotional connection to him right from the start. Motherhood, to me, embodies strength and resilience in ways I never fully understood until giving birth.

HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE THE MODERN MOM?

The modern mom isn't confined to traditional stereotypes of motherhood. She can be whoever she wants to be, whether that's a stay-at-home mom, a working mom, or something in between. It's about embracing the diversity of motherhood and defining it on our own terms.
